Over teaching – means teaching more than what is done in schools and in the school textbooks.
Over the years I give extra notes and information on content, skills and techniques in my literature tuition sessions. My pedagogical intentions are to:
- provide additional relevant information for students to substantiate their answers
- arouse curiosity in them to motivate them to find out more on their own and
- render the lessons interesting by entertaining them with nuggets of information.
- build confidence in them especially when I point out to them that if they apply what I am giving them will impress their teachers and markers. This is especially appreciated by those in the upper secondary, IP, JC and IB students.
